SONIDO Madrid en Vivo celebrates its eighth edition with 22 concerts in the city's venues as part of the San Isidro festivities
2026/05/07
From May 8th to 17th, Madrid hosts another edition of SONIDO Madrid en Vivo, the concert series in various venues, now in its eighth year with the support of Mahou and as part of the official program of the San Isidro Festival organized by the Madrid City Council. Twenty-two concerts spread across some of the city's most iconic stages—El Sótano, Clamores, Café Central Ateneo, Siroco, Contraclub, Café La Palma, Intruso Bar, and many more—make up a program that, as always, champions emerging talent and sonic diversity: rock, jazz, flamenco, pop, soul, rap, punk, and fusion all find a place in this melting pot that transforms San Isidro into a grand celebration of live music.
The festival kicks off on Friday the 8th with Pony Pool Club and Amanda at El Sótano, and runs for ten days with something for everyone. Among the highlights, flamenco takes center stage with a performance by José Escarpín and El Tete at Tablao 1911 and the guitar of Jesús “El Sabas” at Tablao Torero. Top-tier jazz arrives on Thursday the 14th with the Álvaro Torres Trio at Café Central Ateneo and the award-winning Carles Pereira Quartet at Moe. The closing weekend brings together urban sounds, punk rock, and Canarian folk music before Voitek closes the festival on Sunday the 17th at Barracudas.
SONIDO Madrid en Vivo has been for eight editions one of the most valuable showcases for emerging artists on the Madrid scene, creating that atmosphere of connection between musicians and audience that only live music in a venue is capable of generating.
