2025/05/08

From May 9th to 16th, Madrid will be filled with live music with a diverse program that spans pop, flamenco, metal, jazz, and much more. The city of Madrid once again beats to the rhythm of live music with a new edition of the "Sonido Madrid en Vivo 25 - San Isidro" series, an initiative that highlights the role of concert halls as the epicenter of Madrid's music scene. Organized by Madrid en Vivo in collaboration with Mahou, the series will take place from Friday, May 9th to Friday, May 16th, as part of the Fiestas de San Isidro, the patron saint of the capital.

Over the course of an intense week, more than twenty concerts featuring young artists and emerging bands will fill the city's most iconic venues, including Siroco, El Sol, Clamores, Café Central, Gruta 77, El Intruso, and Fulanita de Tal, among many others.

The program stands out for its wide variety of styles: from the pop/rock of Las Edades Difíciles , through the folk-rock of Ley Poblana, the thrash metal of Exodia and Alien Steel , to the contemporary jazz of EMC Quintet , the soul/funk of Alberto , or the avant-garde flamenco of El Yiyo and Andina Melo Dupak . You can also enjoy indie, electronic, singer-songwriter, and experimental sound proposals, thus consolidating the inclusive and diverse nature of the event.

The initiative, now in its fifth year, aims to bring the vibrant programming of Madrid's venues to the general public, giving them visibility as essential cultural spaces and meeting points for artists and audiences. In the words of the organizers, the success of "Sonido Madrid en Vivo" lies in "the audience's empathy with the musical variety" and a firm commitment to emerging talent.

Friday, May 16th will mark the closing of this edition with a night full of energy: from the fresh pop of Víctor González at Cadillac Solitario, to the alternative offerings of Luz Futuro and New Wave Kill at El Sótano, the visceral rock of Red Gekko and Los Blody at Gruta 77, and the eclectic live performances of Pablo & the Llama and Mucho Mungo, who fuse jazz, progressive rock and funk.

"Sonido Madrid en Vivo 25 - San Isidro" thus reaffirms itself as a must-attend event for music lovers, a showcase of the best of the emerging scene and a celebration of the sound art that thrives in Madrid's neighborhoods and venues.
