PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTRAL DISTRICT TO RECOVER COEXISTENCE AND PUBLIC SPACES NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2023

The Central District presents its program of activities to revitalize coexistence and public spaces. With events for children, concerts and intergenerational activities, the initiative seeks to strengthen community ties and restore vitality to urban life. December 2:

  1. CHRISTMAS WEEK FOR SENIORS

December 18: Victoria Theater. (112 places).

11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Musical duo with two dancers, repertoire of classic songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Some Christmas songs will be included.

December 19: Puerta de Toledo Cultural Center. (100 places).

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: Musical duo Beatrice Binotti – Pájaro Juárez, “The bolero is eternal.” They will sing 20 boleros that represent their magic and variety of styles.

December 19: Dos Amigos Senior Center . (Roscón and chocolate for 100 people)

5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.: Performance by a group of sevillanas and castanets from the San Francisco Senior Center. There will be a “Photocall”.

December 20: Antón Martín Senior Center. (Roscón and chocolate for 100 people)

5:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.: Karaoke. There will be a “Photocall”.

December 21: Benito Martín Lozano Senior Center. (Roscón and chocolate for 100 people)

5:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.: Dance with DJ Cabaña. There will be a “Photocall”.

December 22: San Francisco Senior Center. (Roscón and chocolate for 100 people)

5:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.: Dance with DJ Cabaña. There will be a “Photocall”.

December 26: Antón Martín Senior Center.

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Intergenerational activity with 40 minors from Rosalia Rendu. There will be Karaoke, “Photocall” and manual activities.

9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Activity for 3rd and 4th grade primary school students (8 to 10 years old) from the District's Public Early Childhood and Primary Schools (550 students).

CHRISTMAS IN THE MUSIC DISTRICT

Conde Duque becomes the perfect setting to experience Christmas to the rhythm of music. With a program that includes concerts, recitals and exhibitions, the neighborhood offers a unique cultural experience to celebrate the festive season. Discover Christmas harmony in the musical heart of the city.

AMANIEL CONSERVATORY:

  • Wednesday, December 13, 6:30 p.m. Assembly Hall. Concert from the “Coros del Barrio” cycle. Choirs and cellos from the CPM Amaniel.
  • Thursday, December 14, 7:30 p.m. Assembly Hall. Piano recital: Mendmaa Dorzhin and Vadim Gladkov
  • Wednesday, December 20, 8:10 p.m. Christmas concert at the Church of San Marcos. Choir of….Organized by the Central District of the Madrid City Council.
  • Thursday, December 21, 7:30 p.m. Assembly Hall. Concerto de la Encina: monograph J. Brahms. Gerardo López Laguna, piano. Sancho Sánchez, clarinet. Raúl Pinillos, cello.

HIGHER SINGING SCHOOL:

  • December 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, 7:30 p.m. ESCM Theater. Voice and piano recitals by teachers and students.
  • December 20, 7:30 p.m. Monograph “Songs of Rachmaninov” on its anniversary.

LA PALMA ART SCHOOL

  • December 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Market in the hall and in the exhibition room of the school where works made by students will be on sale: ceramics, glass, printing, jewelry. A solidarity table will also be set up to benefit a neighborhood NGO.

ABC MUSEUM

  • Exhibition of children's stories from the ABC Museum collection in the entrance room of the Clara del Rey Cultural Center of the Central District of Madrid City Council. There will be a contest for children to make an illustrated story, on a sheet of paper, half text and half drawing. The contest will be called at the beginning of November and the decision will be on December 20. The selected stories will be exhibited starting December 22 and will remain on display throughout Christmas.
  • Tell Stories from December 27 to January 3 at the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art of Conde Duque. Activity for children about the stories of Ramón Gómez de la Serna.

CERRALBO MUSEUM

  • December 27 and 28: Children's workshop on the museum's watch collection. In the workshop, the participating children will try to make a clock.
  • December 20th. Concert by the Quiroga Quartet in the Ballroom.

  • December 19, 6:00 p.m. Activity for families with children: “The crazy musician returns for Christmas”, a walk through the library, the viewpoint, and the instruments exhibited in the Choir Room of the Torreón de Conde Duque is organized.

MADRID HISTORY MUSEUM:

  • From December 1 to February 4, you can visit the 18th century "Neapolitan nativity scene", displayed in the museum's Chapel. Guided tours on December 14-15-21 and 22 at 12 noon.
  • Exhibition "Atocha: five hundred years of history of Madrid". It was inaugurated on October 11 and can be visited until February 11. The exhibition is part of the museum's permanent exhibition and is a joint exhibition with National Heritage and in collaboration with the Dominican friars of Nuestra Señora de Atocha. Guided tour on December 20 at 1 p.m.
