MADRID PROGRAMMING FOR HISPANIDAD 2024: CONCERTS, ACTIVITIES AND MILITARY PARADE

Hispanidad 2024 is coming to Madrid with a packed agenda of activities that will run from October 4 to 13. With the motto "All accents fit in Madrid", this edition will feature the participation of 750 artists from 22 nationalities and more than 184 events, with Mexico standing out as the guest country.
Featured Concerts
One of the main attractions of the celebrations will be the 98 musical concerts, where internationally renowned artists will meet in some of the most emblematic venues in the city. Among the most eagerly awaited shows, the concert by Colombian Manuel Turizo stands out, which will take place on October 6 at the Puerta de Alcalá with free admission.
The musical activities will start a day earlier, on October 5, with the presentation of the Cuban Vistel Brothers and the start of the MadBlue Festival in the Juan Carlos I Park , where artists such as Iván Ferreiro, DJ Nano, Álvaro de Luna and Leo Rizzi will perform.
In addition, Puerta del Sol will be the stage for great shows with artists such as Ptazeta, Yotuel, Diego Torres and Tan Biónica . Other key venues, such as Plaza de Callao, Plaza Mayor and Madrid Río, will offer genres ranging from Latin jazz to traditional folklore with names such as Paquito D'Rivera and the Chilean Javiera Mena .
Cavalcade of Hispanic Heritage and other activities
The events will kick off on October 4 with the opening speech by Alondra de la Parra , director of the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid. This same weekend, on October 6, the second edition of the popular MadBlue 2024: Run For Earth race will take place, as well as the first Cavalcade of Hispanic Heritage, which will travel along Gran Vía with more than 1,000 participants.
Among the cultural activities, the premiere of the Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid on October 12 at the Teatros del Canal stands out, where they will perform Albéniz's Spanish Suite Op. 47 under the direction of dancer Jesús Carmona.
Military parade of October 12
As every year, the military parade on National Day will be one of the key moments of the celebration . Although the exact details of the route have not been confirmed, it is expected to follow the same route as in previous years, starting at the Glorieta del Emperador Carlos V and proceeding along Paseo del Prado until reaching Plaza de Colón.
Varied programming for all tastes
Hispanic Heritage Week will feature a wide variety of activities, such as the Ibero-American Circus Festival , screenings at the Cineteca, and the Mexican Film Week cycle. In addition, there will be poetry recitals, baroque music concerts, and exhibitions on collecting in Latin America.
