CHRISTMAS IN THE DISTRICT OF CHAMBERÍ

CHRISTMAS LIGHT SHOW

Chamberí Square

The sound and light show will take place every day from November 25 to January 7, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

CHRISTMAS PARADE

Saturday, December 23, at 6 p.m.

Fuencarral street, from the Quevedo roundabout to the Bilbao roundabout.

Join us to welcome Christmas. In this section of Fuencarral street we will see a parade passing before our eyes with Christmas characters walking, stilt walkers, pyrotechnics of little silver stars and lights, etc...

You can also get up close to different Christmas characters, who will fill the street with colors and music, with balls and juggling and surrounded by confetti.

We will also have a tent with a thousand balloons with rods to give to all the children who want to come see us.

VISIT OF THE KINGS AND ROYAL PAGES

On January 2, 3 and 4, the royal pages will visit the six neighborhoods of the Chamberí District so that the little ones can deliver their letters, with the assurance that the pages will send them directly to their Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East .

For this, from the Municipal Board of Chamberí we will send a letter to all schools for each child from 3rd Kindergarten to 2nd Grade Primary. The letter will be addressed to the Three Wise Men and you can fill it out with your parents and then take it to the royal mailbox closest to your house.

CHRISTMAS CONTEST

Schools in the Chamberí district will be able to participate in this contest with nativity scenes made by the schoolchildren, families and teaching staff of the centers.

The winning schools will receive a prize of €1,000 for the first place, second place with a prize of €700 and third place with a prize of €300.

Awards ceremony at the Galileo Cultural Center on December 20, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

WALKING WITH SOROLLA THROUGH CHAMBERÍ

On the occasion of the celebration of the Sorolla Year, the district of Chamberí has installed a series of canvases with some of the most emblematic reproductions of the painter in different parts of the district, around which three guided tours will be organized briefly explaining each painting.

Canal Theaters

Friday, December 15 at 10 a.m.

Do you know what the comb, the shoulders or the chacena of a theater are? Have you ever been “behind the scenes”?
We will take a guided tour of the Canal Theaters, in which we will be able to discover, across its 35,000 meters of surface, its four stage spaces, the exclusive Choreographic Center and the corners that the public rarely has the privilege of contemplating.
The building, which received the Architecture Prize from the Spanish Biennial, is a clear example of the integration of an avant-garde public building. Work of the architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg, it was inaugurated on February 20, 2009.

The camp will take place on December 26, 27, 28 and 29 and January 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The final play of the camp will be performed on Tuesday, January 2 from 1 to 2 p.m. (within camp hours).

The magician Jesús De la Torre receives a surprise in the middle of his show, he receives a letter from the highest magical authority: the Three Wise Men. This letter brings unexpected news. Dani O'magic and his friendly elves open their home to spread the Christmas spirit to children. A magic show where Dani will turn us into magical elves for an hour. A story-singing concert for the whole family.

In Cuentitis Musiquitis we will sing some traditional carols and other new ones to create a fun and crazy show in which the magic of Christmas is always present. We will wait for Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men, and we will even do a test on how to eat the grapes!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS

The Three Wise Men have asked Juanito, a friendly farmer, to take care of the Christmas gifts while they go to the East to look for more. However, an evil elf and his henchmen have decided to steal the gifts and ruin Christmas, which fills the children with excitement. Time is short!

The Three Kings are arriving and the gifts have not yet appeared. Juanito must fight to get them back so that all the children receive their gift on time.

Santillana Reservoir.

Saturday, December 16

Hiking route, which starts from the Santillana Reservoir, and runs through the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Park, visiting the Chopera of the Samburiel River, the Cañada Real Segoviana, the Cordel Fuente las Liebres and the Mirador del Chaparral.

The route is about 8.5km, with a low total gradient of 170m, just passing the 1000m altitude, and is classified as easy difficulty.

Departure from the Galileo Cultural Center, at 9 a.m.

If you cannot participate in the activity, you must notify and justify it before 3 p.m. of the previous Friday.

Unjustified absences will mean the impossibility of registering for excursions scheduled for the following month.
