2026/06/11

This Thursday, June 11, the Cerralbo Museum in Madrid hosts the opening of Disfuncionarias (Disfunctional Women), by Tanit Plana (Barcelona, 1975), a site-specific installation that, as part of the Official Section of the 29th edition of PHotoESPAÑA, offers a sensitive and critical approach to the civil service. This work, conceived specifically for the museum space, engages with its architecture and character to open up new interpretations of the image and the institution.

Under the motto "Reimagine," the 29th edition of PHotoESPAÑA champions creativity, experimentation, and the exploration of the limits of the image, with the Netherlands as the guest country and a program that brings together big names in photography with emerging talent.

The international photography festival brings together nearly forty exhibitions in its Official Section, can be enjoyed until September 13, and will expand to include nearly 100 exhibitions and venues, with 65% female artists, consolidating itself as one of the most relevant photography events on the international scene.

The full program, schedules and updated information can be found on the official PHotoESPAÑA website.
