PHotoESPAÑA and CUPRA City Garage Madrid present the second edition of "Digital Frontiers of the Image"
2026/06/17

PHotoESPAÑA and CUPRA City Garage Madrid present the second edition of Digital Frontiers of the Image, a digital art exhibition that brings together emerging creators from the contemporary visual arts scene as part of the official PHotoESPAÑA 2026 program. The exhibition offers artists a platform to present their latest works and invites the public to discover new visual narratives until July 18, 2026.

After a first edition that established Garage as a leading space for digital art in the capital, the initiative returns with a new selection of projects exploring the possibilities of contemporary imagery through immersive technologies and animation. In the CUPRA Mad Room, Garage's immersive space, digital images come to life through projections that combine technology, light, and sound, immersing visitors in new realities.

The exhibition brings together the winning entries from the open call organized by PHotoESPAÑA and CUPRA City Garage Madrid, which this year awards three prizes and, exceptionally, includes a special mention, resulting in the four works that comprise the exhibition. Compost (Flowers for Suzanne Clair), by Lauren Moffatt, explores the processes of transformation, decomposition, and regeneration through digital flowers created with experimental photogrammetry and 3D animation, drawing inspiration from the science fiction of J.G. Ballard. Glaciotopographia, by Pepe Molina, transforms scientific data from the Khumbu Glacier into an immersive audiovisual experience that reflects on the fragility of ecosystems and the climate crisis. Pixels, by Julián Angrita Bernal, investigates the relationship between the physical and the digital by manipulating pixels and error as a creative resource. And XYZ, by Marcos Micozzi and Hef Prentice, transforms sound into three-dimensional sculptures inspired by organic patterns.

With initiatives like this, Garage reinforces its commitment to digital art as a current and accessible form of expression, consolidating itself as a benchmark for cultural innovation and the promotion of creative talent in the center of Madrid.
