2025/09/17

This year, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWMadrid) is introducing unprecedented awards to celebrate the creativity and talent that have marked a turning point in national and international fashion. For its 40th anniversary, which will be held from September 17 to 21 at IFEMA MADRID, the show will recognize the work of Palomo and Silvia Tcherassi , recognized for their ability to transform and project fashion with an innovative and global perspective.

The National Talent Award will go to Palomo , recognized for his ability to reinvent the codes of Spanish fashion and establish himself as one of the most influential creative voices of his generation on the international scene. The International Talent Award will go to Silvia Tcherassi , in recognition of her key role in promoting Latin American fashion on the global scene and her special connection with Madrid, the city where she opened her first boutique in Spain a decade ago.

An award turned into a work of art

The winners will receive El Paso Alto , a unique piece created by artist Juan Garaizabal, known for his monumental sculptures collected under the concept of Urban Memories . The design symbolizes the creative journey: a steel staircase ascending over wood as a metaphor for life's uneven paths, accompanied by the figure of the creator-walker advancing toward the future with Madrid as a backdrop.

Four decades promoting Spanish fashion

With these new awards, MBFWMadrid not only celebrates its 40-year history , but also reinforces its mission to be a showcase for designer fashion and a platform for international visibility for creative talent.
