One of the greatest traditions of Christmas in Madrid are the many traditional Christmas markets that are held throughout the city. An excellent opportunity to find the necessary gifts for these holidays in their booths.
As usual every year, the Plaza Mayor Christmas Market (November 24 to December 31 ) returns to celebrate these holidays with all those who want to come and tour its 104 booths. The Plaza Mayor Traditional Christmas Market Association welcomes all vendors in this Madrid enclave to offer their Christmas products where you can mainly find nativity scenes, Christmas decorations and joke items.
But it is not the only Christmas market that hosts the center of Madrid. In the Plaza de Juan Goytisolo , next to the Reina Sofía Museum , you can also usually find the traditional Christmas stalls and if you want to play sports you can skate on the ice rink. The Plaza de Isabel II usually has several stalls where Madrid residents and tourists can do some Christmas shopping, as does the Plaza de España which normally hosts La Navideña , which includes a market. and ice rink .
On the other hand, on Paseo de Recoletos , in the section between Colón and Cibeles, the Community of Madrid Crafts Market Fair takes place ( December 1 to 30 ) in which more than 150 artisans from all over Spain participate. An ideal place to find unique Christmas gifts, from jewelry, costume jewelry, to toys, millinery and bookbinding, to ceramics, leather goods, pottery and textiles.

Madrid Río traditionally hosts a Christmas market behind the Casa del Reloj and next to the Matadero (area behind the Nave de Terneras in Madrid Rio . It is made up of around twenty food stalls, typical Christmas products and crafts. In the Madrid area Río and the Casa de Campo, specifically on the Puente del Rey , Christmas on the River is usually installed, an area where you can enjoy different Christmas attractions, such as a sleigh track, an ice rink for skating, hospitality stalls and a small market with Christmas products.
You can also find an interesting gift or decorations at the traditional English Christmas Market at Saint George's Church of England (Dec. 16) or at the El Corte Inglés Castellana Christmas Market ( Nov. 20 to Jan. 5 ).
Under cover you can enjoy the Christmas edition of the Cat Market ( The Westin Palace : December 1 to 10 // Gran Vía, 13 : December 15 to January 5) , a very chic pop-up market: one of the winter editions of the Market del Encanto ( Gran Vía, 13 : December 2 to 9 ), or the Pop Arq Store - Christmas Special ( December 16 and 17 ), a craft market with products designed and produced by architects.
In the Santa Bárbara Palace you can find the Pop Up Chic market this Christmas ( December 5 to 16 ) in collaboration with the Esperanza y Alegría Foundation where you can find everything from clothing and items for men, women and children to decoration for the home, crockery, cutlery, jewelry, bags, books or leather goods.
Nor can you miss a visit to the Craft Shell Market ( Montepríncipe, Boadilla, December 2 and 3 // Casa Verde de Torrelodones, December 16 and 17 ) , which in its new editions continues to support national artisans and designers.
