MADRID IS FILLED WITH MUSIC: "YOUR CITY IS FILLED WITH PIANOS" RETURNS ON OCTOBER 24
2025/10/16
On October 24, 2025 , the center of Madrid will become a large open-air stage with the arrival of a new edition of "Your city is filled with pianos," an initiative that invites citizens to enjoy music in the street.
Throughout the day, ten grand pianos will be set up in various iconic locations throughout the capital so that anyone, regardless of age or musical level, can sit and play. This will be a unique opportunity to bring classical—and not-so-classical—music to all audiences and highlight the integrative power of art in urban spaces.
The event, originally promoted by the Maria Canals International Competition in Barcelona and extended to Madrid thanks to the Occident Foundation , has been held in the capital since 2012. Over the years, it has established itself as a must-attend event for music lovers and curious passersby who, for a day, can transform Madrid's squares into improvised concert stages.

A feast for all the senses
"Your City is Filled with Pianos" is not only a cultural event, but also a participatory experience that reclaims music as a universal language. Professional pianists, students, and amateurs share the stage and emotions in a day that celebrates diversity, creativity, and the democratization of art .
With every note heard in the streets, Madrid demonstrates that music can also be an urban heritage and that public spaces have a soul… if they are given a voice.
