MADRID IS FILLED WITH MUSIC TO CELEBRATE LA ALMUDENA: "PATRONAS" BRINGS 18 CONCERTS STARRING WOMEN ARTISTS

On the occasion of the feast of the Virgen de la Almudena , patron saint of Madrid, the capital is preparing for a weekend full of live music with the first edition of PATRONAS , a series of 18 concerts in different iconic venues and tablaos, which will take place from November 7 to 10. This event, organized by Madrid en Vivo in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, focuses on highlighting the role of women artists and the city's venues as protective and vital spaces for the music scene.

The PATRONAS 2024 line-up is made up entirely of women, giving prominence to female talents spanning genres such as flamenco, soul, pop, jazz and electronic music. Each performance seeks to connect the public with the creative energy of the city, in an intimate and close format that only venues can offer.

THE PROGRAMMING OF PATRONAS DAY BY DAY

Thursday 7th November: The opening day will feature a series of concerts to suit all tastes. From the soul of Sandra Groove at Clamores, to the flamenco force of Nerea Fernández and Laura Abadía at Cardamomo. Other notable names include Silvia Expósito , who promises to make Fulanita de Tal dance, and Suai Suave , who will fuse pop and electronic music at Siroco. The night will close at Rincón del Arte Nuevo with the Argentine singer and guitarist Silvia Gers .

Friday, November 8: The weekend begins with four new proposals. Anadie will present her album Efectos secundarios de ser un ángel (2024) at El Sótano, while Lorena Ferro will fill Contraclub with her classic pop and experienced voice. The Agapornis will offer a night of funk and soul at Tempo Audiophile Club, and the flamenco touch on Friday will be provided by Essential Flamenco at the Teatro Tablao Flamenco Torero, with Andina Melo Dupak and Luana Rubin at the helm.

Saturday, November 9 - Almudena Day: In the midst of the festivities, PATRONAS will offer a special program. Marina Ferrer will hold a Family Jazz session at El Intruso, ideal for enjoying with adults and children, while Noelia Sanxz and Caliza will perform at Búho Real and Fotomatón, respectively, bringing sounds that invite you to dance and reflect.

Sunday 10th November: The closing of PATRONAS will be marked by five concerts that will close the event in style. La Marieta will open the day with a performance at Libertad 8, followed by flamenco by Paula Moreno and Laura Abadía at Tablao 1911. At Galileo Galilei, Xabier Díaz and Adufeiras de Salitre will bring Galician folklore, while Maya Von at Hangar 48 and 3lizabeth at Cadavra will complete the day.

A FESTIVITY TO CELEBRATE MUSIC IN MADRID

PATRONAS aims to position itself as an annual event of reference in Madrid's cultural calendar, highlighting female talent and the importance of concert halls as drivers of the city's artistic life. With 18 concerts over four days, this initiative will allow the public to experience the richness and diversity of the local music scene up close.
