September brings a diverse range of medieval fairs and markets that will transport visitors back to the Middle Ages in various municipalities in the Community of Madrid and its surrounding areas. From Buitrago de Lozoya to El Molar, the month will be packed with events that promise to take all visitors back in time.
Medieval market in Buitrago de Lozoya: a trip to the Middle Ages
From 5 to 8 September , Buitrago de Lozoya becomes an unrivalled medieval setting. This town, with its impressive wall and historic surroundings, hosts a medieval market that for four days offers crafts, tournaments, street theatre, concerts and shows. The streets will be filled with historical reenactments, with costumes and decorations that evoke the town's golden age. This is an opportunity to enjoy culture and history in a unique atmosphere.
Collado Villalba and Fuenlabrada join the medieval celebration
From September 6 to 8 , La Fragua de Vulcano is organizing the Collado Villalba Medieval Market, in the heart of the town, around the Plaza de la Constitución. This market will feature a wide range of activities and attractions, promising an interesting and engaging experience for all visitors.
At the same time, Fuenlabrada joins in the festivities with its own medieval market, which will take place in Plaza España and Calle de la Plaza. Decorated with flags and banners from the period, the market will open its doors from 11am until late at night. Craftsmen dressed in medieval costumes will help create an authentic atmosphere, while the public enjoys magic, history and fun in every corner.
Thematic markets for all tastes: Tres Cantos, Majadahonda and Alpedrete
From September 13 to 15 , Tres Cantos will host the Celtic Market 2024, which will feature entertainment, music, children's activities and characters that will transport attendees to ancient times.
Majadahonda will also be holding its Medieval Market from 19 to 21 September , a themed event that will include craft workshops, food stalls and a children's corner. Visitors will be able to enjoy displays of ancient crafts and take part in activities designed for all ages.
From 20 to 22 September , the Alpedrete Medieval Market will fill the Plaza de la Villa and Calle Real with activities and shows that will transport visitors back to the Middle Ages. Children's workshops, street theatre, falconry displays, craft stalls and a manual attraction area will create an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
El Molar celebrates its 460th anniversary with a Renaissance Craft Fair
Finally, from 20 to 22 September , El Molar will commemorate the 460th anniversary of the Privilege of Villa with a Renaissance Craft Fair, organised by AMATA. The market will be set up in the Parking lot of the Cuevas del Molar, recreating the Renaissance atmosphere with activities, workshops and a wide range of craft products.
