Madrid recognizes the career of designer Hannibal Laguna and the Colombian firm Agua by Agua Bendita

The Madrid City Council has recognized the career and talent of Hannibal Laguna and the Colombian firm Agua by Agua Bendita on the occasion of the new edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFW Madrid) , which started this Wednesday in the capital.
The Delegate for Economy, Innovation, and Finance, Engracia Hidalgo , participated in the presentation of both awards, made possible through a collaboration agreement between the Madrid City Council, via its Department of Economy, Innovation, and Finance, and IFEMA Madrid . The awards aim to recognize established professional careers and contribute to showcasing talent in Spanish and international fashion.
Hidalgo presented Hannibal Laguna with the National Designer Award , a recognition that coincides with the firm's 40th anniversary. The award highlights a career linked to creativity, innovation, and the international projection of Spanish fashion.
Agua by Agua Bendita , for its part, has received the International Designer Award . The Colombian firm stands out for combining craftsmanship, cultural identity, and a contemporary vision of design, and boasts a growing international presence within the global creative landscape.
Madrid, a showcase for fashion and a meeting point for the sector
The MBFW Madrid celebration brings to a close a week dedicated to fashion that began with OMODA Madrid es Moda , a platform that has brought designer fashion and new proposals to different spaces in the city.
In this way, Madrid reinforces its position as one of the main showcases of Spanish fashion and as a meeting point for designers, brands, professionals and the public, turning different spaces in the capital into stages for creation and talent.
Once again, the Madrid City Council has allocated a total of €3.3 million to support Fashion Week. This investment includes grants to encourage designer participation, funding for MBFW Madrid, and funding for OMODA Madrid es Moda.
In addition, the City Council has collaborated by providing emblematic spaces in the city and assisting with the administrative and management processes necessary for the development of the parades, as well as for the protection of the environments in which they are held.
With these actions, Madrid continues to support the fashion sector and promote the visibility of both national and international designers and brands, while boosting creative and economic activity linked to this industry.
