I LIKE MADRID. SAN ISIDRO 2022
2022/05/27
La Noche en Vivo and Mahou-San Miguel create the Madrid Me Gusta-San Isidro 2022 concert series to celebrate the Madrid festivities of this HOLY YEAR OF SAN ISIDRO with more than 30 concerts.
The festivities of San Isidro recover their normality in 2022, in which on the occasion of the celebration of the Holy Year of San Isidro they are more festive than ever, and the music halls of Madrid have decided to offer a program of concerts at the height of the circumstances. Promoted by La Noche en Vivo and Mahou-San Miguel, the Madrid Me Gusta-San Isidro 2022 cycle will host, between Friday the 13th and Sunday the 15th of May, 35 concerts in 26 different venues . For this reason, Madrid Me Gusta is postulated as one of the biggest cultural claims of the Madrid festivities. It is also a musical celebration of the end of restrictions and the return of concerts without limitations, to sing at the top of your lungs and dance freely . Live music returns to venues with its closeness, its quality, its warmth, and its usual stylistic variety at Madrid Me Gusta-San Isidro 2022:
FRIDAY, MAY 13:
Joshua Edelman Trío will be in charge of inaugurating the cycle with the presentation of the My Greenwich Village Stories project at Café Central with two screenings in which the best jazz from New York clubs will be evoked. Soul, funk, reggae, Latin jazz and afrobeat will meet at Hangar 48 with the musical proposal of Manuka Groove . In Maravillas the return of Guille Silveti & Los Bueyes Perdidos will be experienced, showing off the songs from their new album, Malasaña , where there is room for raw rock and melodic power pop with a high Beatle tendency.
In Barracudas they have prepared an evening for those heavier than the wind and the irreverence of punk bringing together Tierras Nefasas, Fuera de Servicio and Distanzia Social on the same poster. There is also room for young promises from the scene such as the bands Red Cactus and Lemur , a band that mixes rock with hip hop in the RATM style, and that will surely make the audience bounce in El Sótano . More focused on soul, funk and blues is the proposal by El Junco , which will have the international quartet Soul Fingers on stage. And speaking of blues, Madrid Me Gusta will feature one of the most prodigious national voices in this genre: Itziar Yagüe, who will be at Tempo Audiophile Club presenting her album Delicious and new songs with three great musicians.
Morocco will host the presentation of the MMV Music label with two of its famous artists: the singer-songwriters Inma Serrano and César Hidalgo . Another outstanding singer-songwriter among the proposals is Libertad 8 with Alberto Alcalá with that flamenco touch that gives his songs so much personality. With two bands, Sala Olvido will also feature on stage: the experience of Naïa and the freshness of Johnny's Drama . And completing the proposals on Friday, One Day Workers will delight the public with their versions of the best North American music at Moe , while Manny Calavera will pay homage to great classics from the Mexican songbook through rock at Cadillac Solitario .
SATURDAY MAY 14:
One of the great rock authors on the current scene in our country is Alejo , which is why he could not miss the Madrid Me Gusta cycle with his concert in Cadavra . Nor could one of the biggest hip hop and neo soul stars on the Madrid scene be missing: the saxophonist Escandoloso Xpósito who will be at Rock Palace surrounded by some of his most talented friends. Looking towards the most contemporary pop with urban touches, Saturday also offers us the chance to enjoy DoleurDolor + J Martina at Siroco .
The blues strikes back with the Travellin' Brothers in Clamores , one of the most contrasting blues outfits on the scene. And looking more towards the alternative scene, in The Dog in the Back of the Car there will be Verona and El Capitán Elefante , two bands with a very defined sound and well-crafted songs. In a similar line is Rojo Cardinal, the band that will take the stage of Vesta on this second date of the cycle. For those who prefer the old school, Gruta 77 promises a masterclass in rock and roll and old punk rock by 13 Bats, who will be accompanied by Cloroformo .
SUNDAY MAY 15:
Madrid Me Gusta-San Isidro 2022 seeks to offer live music for all audiences, therefore, it also has proposals suitable for the younger audience. Among them are the concert by Chuly + Juanse at Café La Palma , and PKL Paula Medina and Lauwder at Contraclub . Among other things, Belle McNulty can boast of her youth, who despite all that she still has to go through, shows, with her voice, great experience and personality with songs that combine classic jazz with pop and sounds urban, and that can be enjoyed in El Despertar . In this fusion of styles, with a Latin touch, Verajoy is also presented, in Fulanita de Tal .
The high presence of female artists in the Madrid Me Gusta-San Isidro 2022 cycle, which has sought to create an egalitarian poster, is latent. One of these great artists is Sara Yagüe who will be at Galileo Galilei showing off her vocal quality. What we have not forgotten since La Noche en Vivo and Mahou-San Miguel is promoting flamenco, moreover, in two very different versions. On the one hand, the purest, that of Essential Flamenco from the tablao Torero with three shows on Sunday afternoon. On the other hand, the flamenco influence of the El Corrillo sextet and its “cañorroto” sound with which they will take a tour of the flamenco-rock of the 70s in El Intruso .
