CRAFTSMANSHIP CONQUERS LUXURY HOTELS

The Four Seasons Madrid, Rosewood Villamagna, The Westin Palace and The Madrid Edition hotels open their doors to luxury crafts and to all those who want to enjoy it firsthand. In addition to workshops that will allow them to learn about the creative process, the detail and the passion behind each piece, there are two essential appointments: in a tribute to crafts, Ana Carrasco, founder of Malababa, will be the guest of Ladies Who Punch , the Exclusive meeting that brings together inspiring women around a punch in The Madrid Edition (November xx). For its part, The Westin Palace becomes an art gallery for a few days (November 11-14) with the exhibition of Felipe Conde, the fourth generation of a saga of luthiers whose guitars have been played by Paco de Lucía, Leonard Cohen, Lenny Kravitz or Bob Dylan.

THE EXHIBITION: WHICH CREATORS SHOULD BE KEPT ON TRACK

Madrid Craft Week. The exhibition brings together a select sample of key names in contemporary crafts and design, such as Álvaro Catalán de Ocón, Sagarmínaga Atelier, José Luis Bazán, Idoia Cuesta, Fernando Alcalde, Mercedes Vicente and Toni Porto. They are members of the Spanish Association of Contemporary Crafts (SACo), a platform whose purpose is to maintain and promote traditional crafts by incorporating innovative design. SHALL WE TALK ABOUT CRAFTSMANSHIP? CONFERENCES THAT INSPIRE

To delve into the work rituals of artisans, encourage the exchange of ideas and make their vision and new projects known, Madrid Craft Week celebrates a Craft Day (November 16 at Súa by Triciclo. Calle Moratín, 22) with three round tables led by the protagonists of the sector:

  • Homofaber, the most prestigious international craft platform, belonging to the Michelangelo Foundation.
  • Spanish Association of Contemporary Crafts (SACo) , which will revolve around the relationship between crafts and design.
  • Association of Textile Creators of Madrid (ACTM) : In a joint action with the Barrio de las Letras, ACTM will give visibility to 10 of its artisans by exposing their creations in the windows of different businesses in the neighborhood.

CRAFT SPACE

The Craft Space is already a classic appointment in Madrid Craft Week: a meeting point for artisans and designers where the public will have the opportunity to purchase their creations. At the COAM (C/ Hortaleza, 63) on November 19 and 20.

And as in previous editions, in the participating neighborhoods all kinds of experiences related to the crafts of their area are proposed, offering a complete program of activities in the selected shops, where the public can train or simply enjoy and learn more about the exciting world of "craft" that combines the handmade, sustainable and exclusive. All the information in Madrid Craft Week .
