MADRID CELEBRATES THE “READ TOGETHER” FESTIVAL TO PROMOTE READING

From February 19 to 22, Madrid will host the “ Leer Juntos ” festival, an initiative aimed at promoting reading and reflecting on the impact of literature on society. The event, organized by Be Cooltural , will take place in various spaces around the city, including the Ateneo de Madrid , the Ortega-Marañón Foundation , the Casa del Libro on Gran Vía and public educational centers, with the aim of bringing reading closer to audiences of all ages.

The festival will bring together leading authors such as André Aciman , Alice Kellen , Beatriz Serrano and Jorge Freire , among others. Attendees will be able to participate in workshops , conversations and debates to explore the importance of literature and the role of books as a bridge between generations.

A highlight of the festival will be the tribute to the writer Carmen Martín Gaite , in the year of her centenary. The programme also includes activities aimed at young people, with the aim of bringing literature closer to primary and secondary school students through collaboration with educational centres.

The festival will close on February 22 with a “ Reading Party ” at the Cervantes y Compañía Bookstore , a reading party open to all book lovers. You can find more information on the La Casa del Libro blog.
