“Today I have something to do” arrives in Carabanchel and Moncloa-Aravaca
2026/03/17
The cultural program of 21 DISTRITOS brings to the neighborhoods "Hoy tengo algo que hacer" (Today I Have Something to Do), a play performed by Luis Bermejo and written and directed by Pablo Rosal. It will be presented on two dates: March 21, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Fernando Lázaro Carreter Cultural Center (Carabanchel) and April 27, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. at the Faro de Moncloa (Moncloa-Aravaca). Admission is free (conditions apply depending on the performance).
The play follows the adventures of a contemporary "hero" who, in a picaresque style, leaves home to discover what it means to have a job: that "something to do" that seems to sustain identity and give order to life. Through the figure of the clown, the story combines humor, poetry, and honesty to confront a very current paradox: the urgency to always be busy and the emptiness that it sometimes conceals.
Lasting approximately 70 minutes and recommended for ages 16 and up, this performance is part of the participatory project "On the Margins: Neighborhood Theatre Festival," which brings accessible and participatory performances to various districts of Madrid. The Carabanchel performance is wheelchair accessible and free of charge until capacity is reached; the Faro de Moncloa performance requires prior registration, with a form available from April 13th (10:00 am).
