SPAIN MOVES FORWARD IN DIGITAL TRANSITION: "EVERYTHING IS IN MADRID" AMONG THE EIGHT FINALISTS OF THE EUROPEAN BUSINESS PROMOTION AWARDS 2024
2024/09/20

In a context where digitalisation has become a fundamental pillar for business development, the “ Todo en está en Madrid ” project has been recognised as one of the eight finalists in the third category of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) 2024. This award, which celebrates initiatives that support the digital transition of companies, underlines the commitment of the Madrid City Council to the modernisation and visibility of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The Madrid project stood out among the 442 applications submitted by 29 countries , earning a place in the European phase of these prestigious awards. The digitalisation of the city's commercial and hotel offering has been key to “Todo en está en Madrid” obtaining this recognition. The platform provides SMEs with an accessible digital space, both for citizens and tourists, improving their visibility and commercial viability in an increasingly competitive environment.

International recognition in Budapest

The “ Todo en está en Madrid ” project will now compete with other finalists from countries such as Austria, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Serbia and Slovakia in the final stage of the EEPA 2024. The overall winner will be announced at the SME Assembly, which will be held in Budapest from 18 to 20 November 2024. This event will bring together business leaders, policy makers and representatives of the European Commission to discuss the future of entrepreneurship and digitalisation in Europe.

Presentation at the IV Smart City Congress

Before the Budapest event, “Todo en está en Madrid” will be presented at the IV Smart City Congress, which will take place from 19 to 20 September at IFEMA Madrid. This meeting, which brings together municipalities from the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI), government entities and players from the technology sector, will be an ideal platform to show how this project has contributed to the digitalisation and efficiency of Madrid SMEs.

During the congress, the latest trends and challenges in smart urban management will be addressed, with national and international speakers who will share experiences and strategies to move towards a more sustainable and inclusive future. In addition, the event will have spaces such as ÁGORA, for networking, and educational areas such as AKADEMIA CIBELES and AKADEMIA NEPTUNO, together with the MADRID CAPITAL DIGITAL space, which will offer opportunities to create synergies and expand contact networks.

With initiatives such as “ Everything in Madrid ”, Spain reaffirms its commitment to digitalisation and support for SMEs, boosting their competitiveness in an increasingly connected and technological global market.
