2025/02/03
Since February 3, the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza presents an exhibition that brings together for the first time in its entirety the set of works by Francesco Guardi belonging to the Museo Calouste Gulbenkian , thanks to a collaboration agreement between both institutions.
The exhibition includes a total of 18 oil paintings and a drawing by the Venetian artist, dating from between 1765 and 1791. These works present impressive views of Venice , such as the Rialto Bridge, the Doge's Palace, representations of the surrounding areas of the city and scenes from the Ascension celebrations.
These works offer a unique look at 18th-century Venice , portrayed with a blend of precision and vitality that characterises Guardi. In addition, an oil painting by his son Giacomo will be on display, completing the family panorama.
This exhibition is a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of the Venetian master . The exhibition will be available until May 11, 2025. You can find more information on the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza website.
