Until August 30, the Lázaro Galdiano Museum is hosting Bunny, the first solo exhibition in Spain by photographer Talia Chetrit (New York, 1982), as part of the PHotoESPAÑA Official Section program. The exhibition, presented by LOEWE and the LOEWE Foundation, brings together the universe of one of the most unique artists on the current scene, recognized in the art and fashion worlds for her provocative exploration of identity, sexuality, and the mechanics of image creation.

Chetrit's work encompasses staged self-portraits, intimate family photographs, and raw representations of the body that often reveal the camera, the studio, or the staging within the frame itself. This practice highlights the connection between performance and photography, blurring the lines between public and private, fiction and reality, and using photography itself as both subject and tool to examine control, authorship, intimacy, and the passage of time. "Although we know the moment is performative, we also understand that there is a reality embedded in the performance. It's a relationship I like to play with," the artist explains.

Much of her work oscillates between actively directing and simply documenting her subjects, as reflected in the photographs of her partner, Denis, and her son, Roman. Through these images, Chetrit invites the public to reflect on how photographs construct perception, belief, and desire, in a proposal that makes the act of looking the true protagonist.
