PROSPERIDAD MARKET BECOMES A CULTURAL EPICENTER WITH A FAIR, CONCERTS, AND ZARZUELA IN MAY

Gastronomy, live music, and tradition come together in a festive calendar that enlivens the heart of the Chamartín neighborhood. This May, the Prosperidad Market transforms into a true meeting point for locals and visitors, with a packed agenda of cultural and gastronomic offerings. From the Andalusian flavor of the April Fair to the international rhythms of The Daryl Hockin Trio , not to mention the lyrical tradition of zarzuela , the historic Chamartín market offers an ideal calendar to enjoy the good weather with music, tapas, and joy.

From May 8th to 11th , the eagerly awaited April Fair will be held at the Prosperidad Market , a celebration with a southern flair that will fill the space with color, music, and a good atmosphere. On Thursday the 8th, DJ Pau Ornia will open the fair with a session at 8:00 p.m., and on Friday the 9th, the stage will be decorated with flamenco with a live performance by David de Paloma , also at 8:00 p.m. Saturday the 10th will be an especially lively day, with a sevillana masterclass and a best-dressed contest at 12:30 p.m., followed by a David Zayas concert at 2:00 p.m. During the four days of the fair, visitors can enjoy the Gourmet Tapas Route , with tapas and drinks for just 6 euros at the market's gastronomic venues.

The music will continue on Saturday, May 17 at 9:00 p.m. with a performance by The Daryl Hockin Trio , part of the market's regular series of concerts every third Thursday of the month. The group, known for its elegant fusion of jazz, soul, and contemporary rhythms, promises an intimate evening of high-quality music for live music lovers.

To close out the month, on Saturday, May 31st at 1:00 PM , it will be the turn of Spanish tradition with the Anthology of Zarzuela by the Illarramendi Zarzuela Company. As a prelude to the "Mercados en Crescendo" series, the show will offer a tour of iconic pieces from the genre chico, along with some special surprises, highlighting the value of our musical roots in a relatable and popular format.
