THE SANTIAGO BERNABÉU STADIUM HOSTS THE THIRD EDITION OF THE WORLD CONGRESS ON SPORTS TOURISM

The third edition of the World Congress on Sports Tourism will take place on 28 and 29 November at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium , organised by UN Tourism and the Government of the Community of Madrid.
Under the theme “ Tourism and Sport: A lasting legacy for destinations ”, this congress will bring together renowned personalities to discuss and exchange innovative ideas on best practices and perspectives on sports tourism.
Regional and local authorities, UN tourism affiliate members, leading athletes and other stakeholders will discuss strategies to promote tourism destinations through sporting events and sponsorships . Due to the popularity of major national and international sporting events, destinations around the world are planning to invest in sports infrastructure and marketing strategies to promote their sporting offerings.
Other topics of the conference include the economic impact of sports tourism, its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and innovation in sports infrastructure and tourism experience.
