The Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid hosted the opening of three exhibitions that will be on display until September 27 as part of the Official Section of the 29th edition of PHotoESPAÑA: the group exhibition Volver a imaginar (Reimagining Again), Refusal. Second Fracture by artist Rafał Milach, and Ruina Montium by Raphaëlle Peria. The opening event was attended by Valerio Rocco, director of the Círculo de Bellas Artes; María Santoyo, director of PHotoESPAÑA; Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães, curator of Volver a imaginar; artist Rafał Milach; and Claude Bussac, curator of Ruina Montium.

Reimagining , the title of this year's festival, brings together thirteen Spanish and Dutch artists to reflect on the transformation of photography and new ways of constructing images today. Meanwhile, Rafał Milach's Refusal. Second Fracture analyzes the mechanisms of propaganda and resistance in Eastern Europe through the story of Belarusian activist Xenia Degelko.

The third exhibition, Ruina Montium by Raphaëlle Peria, revisits the landscape of Las Médulas through photographic interventions that intertwine geological memory, human history, and artistic creation. All three exhibitions will remain open to the public until September 27 as part of the PHotoESPAÑA 2026 program, which this year features the Netherlands as its guest country.

The full program, schedules and updated information can be found on the official PHotoESPAÑA website.
