Diverse, Equal: the art of looking beyond differences

From September 19 to 27, 2026, the Espacio Jovellanos gallery in Madrid will host Diversos, Iguales (Diverse, Equal), an exhibition of contemporary paintings by the artist Francisco Sánchez Felguera. The exhibition offers a visual journey exploring human diversity and the feelings, questions, and experiences that, despite our differences, we share.

Through figures, color, texture, and composition, Sánchez Felguera uses painting as a language to express emotions, ideas, and experiences. His work does not aim to impose a single interpretation, but rather invites the viewer to pause, observe, and construct their own understanding. The artist himself summarizes his relationship with creation with a central idea: painting allows him to express what words cannot.

Diverse, Equal was born as a reflection on what makes us different and, at the same time, on all that unites us. The exhibition seeks to open a space for emotion and personal dialogue, suggesting that perhaps the real issue lies not in our differences, but in what remains when we are able to look beyond them.
