2023/06/15

31 venues and tablaos in Madrid will offer, between Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 June, 31 performances of rock, jazz, flamenco, blues, tango and pop, in a cycle organized by Madrid en Vivo with the collaboration of the Madrid City Council.

Next June 21 marks the European Day of Music . This celebration vindicates the cultural exchange that occurs, through music, between artists and the public. Therefore, there can be no better way to share these dates than with live music . Even more so if it is done in a close way and with the quality and musical variety that Madrid Live venues always guarantee. Between Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 June , the live Madrid concert halls and flamenco tablaos, with the collaboration of the Madrid City Council , will celebrate the European Music Day with the cycle: European Music Day 2023 – Madrid Live .

This live music cycle will be part of the program promoted by the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Madrid City Council , which will take place from June 13 to 24. Starting on the 17th, a large program of musical performances will take place at Matadero, which can be consulted in full on the Madrid Destino website . Wednesday June 21

Coinciding with the European Day of Music , the opening day brings us a good sample of the richness and stylistic variety of the live music circuit in Madrid. We will be able to enjoy the tango of the Constantini-Foretic duo at Café Berlín , the lyrics of the singer-songwriter María Ruiz in Fulanita de Tal , the folkloric rap of El Niño Lord.Cah in El Perro de la Parte de Atrás del Coche , international jazz by Manel Fortia and Giovanni Giudi in Clamores , or the blues of the Madrid Blues School in El Intruso and Alber Solo & Firebird Blues in Honky Tonk . And, as usual, flamenco will be very present, especially on this European Music Day , with performances by Nazaret Reyes at the Tablao 1911 and the flamenco show directed by Juan El Mistela , Essential Flamenco , at Torero . All three promoted by the promotion and dissemination platform FLAMENCO CAPITAL .

For the public more inclined to pop and rock, there will be no shortage of opportunities to discover great bands on the scene: Perse will perform at Rockville , Enredo will download rock and roll classics at Cien por Cien , Patricia & The Glass Sugar Band will perform together with The Glup in Sirocco . For the more alternative, The Noisy Réquiem and Around promise to engage the public in Café La Palma , as will Cruz Cortés and Maylaya in Cadillac Solitario .

Thursday June 22

As a bridge between the European Day of Music and the beginning of the weekend, Madrid en Vivo and its venues continue to bet on talent and eclecticism. At Búho Real , Patricio will present the songs from his latest work and a classic from his indisputable career. The young Íñigo Fúster , in a quartet formation, will demonstrate, in El Despertar , that the wisdom demanded by jazz and youth are not mutually exclusive. Two other young talents, in this case from pop music, star in the double Fotomatón concert: Pablo Romo and Nacho Laborda . In Vesta , the Combo School will show all their learning. And, also on Thursday night, Australian punk band Private Function will strut their crossroads between the irreverent and the comic at Fun House .

Friday June 23

The European Music Day 2023 – Madrid Live cycle comes to an end on Friday. But he says goodbye in style. There will be no shortage of jazz figures Jeremy Pelt with the Sebastián Chames Trio at Café Central , Entre Amigos Jazz Band at Big Mama Ballroom or the projection of future and present talent from 3Loop at Tempo Audiophile Club . At Moe they will explore other avenues of black music closer to soul and funk with Crazy Funk Machine . The flamenco note will be put on this last day by Juan Ramírez in Cardamomo.

The most guitar players will not be left off the hook on Friday either. Hangar 48 and the punk rock of Kalor Cerebral and In.su.rekto promise not to leave anyone indifferent. In the same way that Pölar Blood and Alice's Drawings in Wonderland surely won't. The most classic rock will always have its place: La Esquina will present their album at El Sol , Tatooine Cripples will demonstrate their experience on stage in Moby Dick , Lacruda will shake the night at BarCo , and Rayo Stoned will emulate the Rolling Stones' greatest hits on Thundercat . They are joined by two very promising pop voices: Silver Roy in Contraclub , and Ariadna Redondo in Rincón del Arte Nuevo .
