DISCOVER "THE LAST SUPPER" LIKE NEVER BEFORE: AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE AT THE NOMAD MUSEUM IN MADRID
2025/01/07

Starting on January 10 , the Museo Nomad Madrid invites you to enter the fascinating universe of Leonardo da Vinci with an immersive experience that reinterprets his iconic work The Last Supper . This revolutionary project not only recreates the majestic mural in real size, but also unravels the complex history behind this Renaissance jewel that has defied the passage of time.

An enigmatic and ephemeral work

Created over 500 years ago, The Last Supper is much more than a painting: it is a testament to Da Vinci's genius and his constant drive to innovate. Unlike traditional frescoes, the master opted for an experimental technique combining oil and tempera on plaster, which condemned the work to premature deterioration. Today, only 10% of the original painting has survived, while the rest is the result of numerous restorations.

Furthermore, its original location in the refectory of the Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan limits access to small groups with a maximum time of 15 minutes, making it difficult to appreciate it in all its magnitude.

A journey to the heart of art

In order to bring this masterpiece closer to the public, the Museo Nomad Madrid has meticulously recreated the refectory and the mural on a real scale (8.80 by 4.60 metres). Visitors will be able to enjoy the richness of Da Vinci's original strokes, as well as the traces left by the multiple restorations over the centuries.

But the experience goes beyond the visual. Thanks to technology, visitors will be able to explore the inner layers of the painting, revealing secrets about Da Vinci's techniques, his anatomical studies and the innovative perspective that marked a before and after in the history of art.

Live art without haste

In this unique experience, the public will have the opportunity to appreciate The Last Supper without the usual time restrictions. The exhibition is designed to immerse visitors in the atmosphere of the Renaissance, allowing a deep and reflective connection with one of the most admired and enigmatic works in history.
