  • CULTULETRAS arrives at the Barrio de las Letras, to value its extensive cultural network and bring it closer to all audiences.
  • This event will be held from June 16 to 19 under the name CULTULETRAS, Cultural Festivals of the Barrio de las Letras.

Madrid is a city full of life and plans such as the cultural festivals that will be held in the Barrio de las Letras between June 16 and 19 . The event called CULTULETRAS is organized by the Barrio de las Letras Merchants Association and has the support of the Madrid City Council through its Madrid Capital de Moda and Everything is in Madrid projects.

This event not only seeks to vindicate the cultural life of this area of Madrid , but also seeks to promote the commercial and hospitality fabric of said area through the presentation of a program full of activities.

Cultuletras has the participation of numerous cultural organizations belonging to the area of the Barrio de las Letras: CaixaForum Madrid, the Royal Academy of History, the Lope de Vega House Museum, the Ateneo de Madrid, the Ateneo Fencing School, the Soy Association de La Cuesta, the Spanish Theater, the Palacio Valdés School, the La Asunción School and the La Noche en Vivo Collective.

In addition to all these organizations, they also collaborate with Cultuletras, Mahou and the National Library .

Also throughout the days of the event, different establishments in the Barrio de las Letras will offer different activities and discounts inside their premises.

During the four days that the event lasts, different proposals will be waiting for you. Discover them!

  • THURSDAY 16 – SUNDAY 19

VILLA ROSA: Free guided visit to the mythical flamenco tablao from 11am to 1pm. [Santa Ana Square, 15].

LOPE DE VEGA HOUSE MUSEUM: Guided tour of the writer's home from 12:00 to 17:00. [Cervantes Street].

BARRIO DE LAS LETRAS: There will be an exhibition of caricatures of writers in different parts of the neighborhood.

LIVE NIGHT: This association will present different shows in different places during the days that Cultuletras is held in the Barrio de las Letras. In Essential Flamenco , 13 passes will be offered with different shows and documentaries, while in Café Central you can enjoy 6 passes of a jazz concert by the Jazz Sisters group from Friday the 17th to Sunday the 19th.

  • THURSDAY 16

SOY DE LA CUESTA: The association together with Turismo de Irlanda presents the Bloom's Day literary tour through different places in the Barrio de las Letras.

SPANISH THEATER: Visit to the general rehearsal at 7:00 p.m. [Prince Street].

CALZADOS FRANJUL: Presentation of the Capsule Collection 'Homage to the Golden Age' 7pm [Calle Lope de Vega, 11]. Free entry.

CAIXA FORUM: There will be two guided visits: the first to the Caixa Forum Building at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. (30 places – Reserve your place here ) and the second to the 'Comics' exhibition located in the same space between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. (30 places – Reserve your place here ). [Ashtray Street]. These guided tours will also take place on Friday the 17th. [*]

  • FRIDAY 17

ROYAL ACADEMY OF HISTORY: Guided tour from 10am to 1pm. [Leon Street].

HUERTAS STREET: Outdoor storytelling. 7:00 p.m.

ANTÓN MARTÍN MARKET: Presentation and signing of the book 'Vidal had to die' by Juan Novo Cuadrapani. 7:00 p.m.

ATENEO DE MADRID: Homage and reading 'Elena Fortún' 7pm. [Meadow Street].

You can also enjoy a route of art galleries and antique dealers in the Barrio de las Letras (12pm – 8pm) and between 5pm and 7pm the activity “El Mural del Clima” will take place in the Impact Hub space, located on Calle Mall.

  • SATURDAY 18

HUERTAS STREET: Outdoor storytelling. 11 a.m. and Mercado de las Ranas , which will also be held on Sunday at the same hours, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

LOPE DE VEGA HOUSE MUSEUM: Dramatized concert 'In the Kingdoms of Spain' . 12 noon and 7 p.m. [Cervantes Street].

CAIXA FORUM: «Little Movie Fans» , a family activity in which you can enjoy the screening of the film 'Fantástico Mister Fox'. 11:30 a.m. (30 places – Reserve your place here ) [Calle Cenicero] [*]

PLAZA DE SANTA ANA: Fencing exhibition from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

PALACIO VALDÉS SCHOOL: Concert of the project 'Pieza Clave' 12 noon. [Paseo del Prado].

HUERTAS STREET: Mahou acoustic concert. 1:00 p.m.

LOPE DE VEGA HOUSE MUSEUM: Dramatized route 'Letters and Swords' from 11am to 1pm. [Cervantes Street].

As the end of the party, on Monday the 20th , Cultuletras says goodbye until the next edition with 'Musical Meeting for Adults' in the auditorium of the Palacio Valdés School at 7:00 p.m. Both in this one and in the Colegio de la Asunción , school contests will be held whose winners will be published during the days of Cultuletras.

Also collected within Cultuletras you can enjoy the PhotoEspaña exhibition located at The Westin Palace hotel where you will discover photographs of the 'Landscape of Light' , a World Heritage Site.
