"CLÁSICOS A LA FRESCA" CELEBRATES ITS 12TH EDITION WITH THEATRE, MUSIC AND A LOT OF BAROQUE IN CIUDAD LINEAL
2025/06/23
The Clásicos a la Fresca festival returns this summer with more than ever, consolidating its position as one of the essential cultural events in the Ciudad Lineal district. Born with the aim of bringing classical theater to the neighborhoods, this year it celebrates its twelfth edition in the courtyard of the Municipal Music School in Pinar de Chamartín , where it was enthusiastically received last year.
From June 26 to 29 , residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy an authentic open-air baroque festival: a "21st-century comedy corral" that blends tradition, modernity, and female talent, with a significant portion of the performances created and directed by women.
Four nights, four times
The evening program offers an exciting scenic journey through time:
- Thursday 26th - “El Jeoso” (Factoría Teatro): free adaptation of Cervantes’ El celoso extremeño , directed by Gonzala Martín Scherman.
- Friday 27th - “El Cid” (Antonio Campos): a choral and popular vision of the myth of the Campeador, with live music by La Musgaña.
- Saturday 28th - “The Art of Being a Comedian” : a playful immersion in the Golden Age and the origins of theatre.
- Sunday 29th - “Don Juan in Hell” (Teatro Che y Moche): stage version of Gonzalo Suárez’s film, with echoes of Molière and the most decadent Don Juan.
Family theater in the mornings
The festival also thinks about the little ones, with two morning performances:
- Saturday 28th - “Fuenteovejuna” (Sun and Earth): an ecological and family version of Lope’s classic, with sheep as the protagonists.
- Sunday 29th - “Delicias de un sueño” (Ñas Teatro): a sensory show inspired by El Bosco's The Garden of Earthly Delights , ideal for early childhood.
Verses, music and surprises
As a scenic appetizer, the festival offers a welcome surprise of poetry and music to make the audience a protagonist of this unique cultural experience.
The 12th edition of Clásicos a la Fresca promises to be a celebration of theatre, heritage and community togetherness under the stars.
