CELEBRATE THE GOLDEN AGE IN THE BARRIO DE LAS LETRAS IN HONOR OF MIGUEL DE CERVANTES IN THE CULTURAL WEEK

The Spanish capital is preparing to immerse itself in the splendor of the Golden Age with the cultural week dedicated to the literary genius, Miguel de Cervantes. From April 19 to 23, the emblematic neighborhood of Las Letras will become the epicenter of culture and art, in an initiative organized by the Centro Municipal Board in collaboration with various associations and local entities.

For five days, Madrid residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a varied free program designed for all audiences, which includes performances, dramatized routes and artistic demonstrations. From the reading of select passages of Cervantes' work to live painting and historical reenactments, each activity promises to transport attendees to the golden age of Spanish literature.

The agenda of activities is varied and promises to immerse attendees in the cultural and artistic wealth of the time. On Friday, April 19 , at 12:00 p.m. , the celebration will begin with the "Literary Crown in Honor of Miguel de Cervantes" in the Plaza de Las Cortes , an emotional reading of select passages from the author's work, in collaboration with Casa Castilla La Mancha.

Saturday, April 20 will be a day full of art and color, with the "Pinta Las Letras" speed painting demonstration scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Plaza de Santa Ana , Calle Cervantes and Plaza de Jesús. This activity, organized in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors, promises to captivate viewers with the creativity and skill of the participating artists.

In the afternoon of the same Saturday, at 7:00 p.m., the Plaza de Santa Ana will witness a "Historical Representation of the Golden Age" , organized by the AECCSO Group - La Camarada. This staging will transport viewers to the golden age of Spanish literature, recreating emblematic moments and characters of the period.

On Sunday, April 21 , at 11:00 a.m. , theater lovers will be able to enjoy a "Theatrical Route of the Golden Age" , which will depart from the Basilica of Jesús de Medinaceli and tour the most emblematic places in the Las Letras neighborhood. . This initiative, in collaboration with the Barrio de Las Letras Merchants Association, promises a unique and enriching experience.

The finale of this literary week will take place on Tuesday, April 23 in the Basilica of Nuestro Padre Jesús de Medinaceli , with the baroque musical lyric inspired by the work of another great of the Golden Age, Lope de Vega.
