2024/09/30
On October 7 and 8 , the Santoña Palace in Madrid will be dressed up to host the 12th edition of Atelier Couture , an event that stands out for its dedication to promoting contemporary couture and high-end Spanish craftsmanship. In this edition, sixteen designers will present their bridal, ceremony, guest and special event fashion collections, while three exhibitions will highlight artisanal work within the framework of Madrid Fashion Week.
Ten years of contemporary sewing and craftsmanship of excellence
Atelier Couture celebrates almost a decade of experience, consolidating itself as a benchmark for the traditional crafts and contemporary sewing sector in Spain. Since its creation, the platform has given visibility to more than a hundred creators, both established and emerging, reaffirming its commitment to "excellent craftsmanship" and creativity in sewing. In addition, it has stood out for its educational work, promoting generational change and fostering interest in traditional crafts.
Designers and exhibitions at the 12th edition
The event will feature fashion shows by leading designers such as Jesús Segado, Félix Ramiro, Lucía Cano and Rafael Urquizar from Málaga de Moda, Carmen Alba, Candelas and Felipa, Genoveva Hita, Señorito Ortega, Raquel López from Castilla-La Mancha, Amaia Artieda, ASN Madrid, Beatriz Antón, Elena Navarro, Lorena Panea, María Baraza and María Diezma. At the same time, visitors will be able to visit the exhibitions by Artesanía Florencia, Franjul and Pepitina Ruiz from Málaga de Moda, which will offer a sample of high-quality Spanish craftsmanship.
A space to discover the secrets of artisan trades
More than just a showcase for presenting collections, Atelier Couture becomes an immersive experience that allows visitors to discover the secrets behind artisan trades. From designers and dressmakers to shoemakers, jewellers, milliners and other professionals, each edition offers a unique opportunity to appreciate the meticulous and creative work that gives life to unique pieces, true works of art that embody luxury and distinction.
A milestone in fashion, marked by resilience and innovation
Throughout its history, Atelier Couture has faced challenges, such as the shutdown caused by the pandemic, which, far from weakening its mission, has strengthened it, consolidating itself as a necessary space for the fashion industry in Spain. Thanks to the trust placed in it by designers who identify with its values, the platform has continued to grow and promote its work in favor of preserving trades, quality craftsmanship and innovation.
Bet on young talent and cultural diversity
The incorporation of young designers who are taking over at the ateliers is one of the strongest bets of Atelier Couture. These new voices bring significant value to the sector, showing that young people understand and learn to integrate sewing as a necessity in the current panorama. In addition, the platform has stood out for its high representation of designers and artisans from different autonomous communities, reflecting its commitment to the diversity and cultural richness of Spain.
In addition, we have prepared a route for Atelier Couture and bridal fashion in Madrid so that you can discover the stores of the participants. This 12th edition marks not only the end of a cycle, but also an opportunity to reflect on the future of fashion in Spain. Atelier Couture will continue to be a beacon of creativity, a space where tradition and modernity intertwine to celebrate the richness of Spanish Couture and high craftsmanship, one of the country's most precious assets.
