André Ricard. Design in Use: A Look at the Great Reference of Industrial Design

The Fernán Gómez Cultural Center is hosting the exhibition “André Ricard: Design in Use” until May 3, 2026, one of the highlights of the Madrid Design Festival 2026. The exhibition, with free admission, offers a journey through the career of a key figure in Spanish industrial design.

Far from presenting a chronological overview, the exhibition organizes Ricard's work around the spaces and contexts in which his designs acquire meaning in everyday life: the table, the bathroom, the kitchen, the studio, parties, or memories. In this way, the exhibition focuses on objects that, through their functionality and simplicity, have become part of our daily lives.

The exhibition also reviews more than six decades of work by this design pioneer, featuring iconic pieces such as the Tatu lamp and the Barcelona '92 Olympic torch. It's an opportunity to discover how good design can be, at the same time, useful, discreet, and deeply recognizable.
