21 DISTRICTS returns in September with a cultural program that covers the entire city
2026/07/28
After the summer break, 21 DISTRICTS, the cultural revitalization program of the Madrid City Council's Department of Culture, Tourism, and Sport, resumes its activities with a full autumn program that will fill the capital's neighborhoods with culture. From September 18 to 30, music, dance, circus, flamenco, workshops, and participatory experiences will take place in districts such as Centro, Latina, Moncloa-Aravaca, Tetuán, Salamanca, Barajas, Puente de Vallecas, Fuencarral-El Pardo, Vicálvaro, and San Blas-Canillejas. As is customary with the program, all activities are free and open to the public, with accessibility measures in place to ensure everyone can participate.
Flamenco will be one of the month's major highlights. On September 18, Israel Galván presents SOLO in Moncloa-Aravaca, one of his most acclaimed pieces in which he transforms his own body into an instrument; and on the 25th, Eduardo Guerrero brings his show Guerrero to the city center, a reflection on the passage of time inspired by The Art of War . Music and sound also play a significant role, with events such as Ede 's educational music workshop in Latina, NEXCYIA and Nono's (Delicalisten) sunset ambient music session at the Mirador del Tío Pío, and the accompanying solar astronomy observation, both in Puente de Vallecas.
The program also offers a wide range of experiences for all ages. Families can enjoy the bread-making workshop "Al pan, pan" in Plaza Mayor, the traveling circus show "Carrusel Ambulante" in Latina, the traditional wooden games of " TocajugarMADERA," or the acrobatic theater of "Sueños encantados" in El Pardo. These are complemented by the sound walks "Sapos reales en jardines imaginarios" in El Capricho Park, the "Make Me Roll" Roller Disco in Tetuán, the "Fanzineitor" self-publishing workshop in Salamanca, the "Encuentros con Altura" series at the Moncloa Lighthouse, and technology-based activities such as "Imaginar con máquinas" and "Videojuegos para el día a día" in San Blas-Canillejas.
The full program, schedules and updated information for each activity can be found on the official website of 21 DISTRICTS .
